Curt Kimmel

Hedging Strategist

Curt Kimmel has nearly 40 years in the business. He joined AgMarket.Net, the farm division of John Stewart and Associates, as a hedging strategist and branch manager of the Normal, Illinois location during July 2022. He was previously the owner of Bates Commodities in Illinois. Curt returned to Bates Commodities in 2001 after spending 13 years with Grain Field Futures, Zwicker Consulting and founding the Grain Field Report.

Curt was raised on a grain and livestock farm near Carlock, Illinois and received a B.S. degree in Agriculture Business and a B.S. degree in Agriculture Production from Illinois State University. Curt stays active in the community and the agricultural industry by serving on numerous advisory boards.

Curt works one-on-one with producers, traders and agricultural companies to develop risk management strategies and trading plans. Curt can be heard regularly on various radio stations and seen at many marketing meetings across the Midwest. He has two grown children and his wife is a retired school teacher.
