There’s a potential for rain in the forecast across the Northern Plains and Southern Plains for the remainder of this week. It’s welcoming news for most of those areas to replenish soils.
This is as the U.S. Drought Monitor still shows abnormally dry to extreme drought throughout the Western and Central Corn Belt and Wheat Belt.
AgMarket Consulting’s Betsy Jibben takes us to Southeast South Dakota where dryness is a continued concern, even after a snowy winter.
Betsy talks with Drew Hoogestraat, a farmer in SE SD; Matt Bennett, an AgMarket.Net Co-Founder and IL Farmer; Chelsea Byl, a farmer in SE SD; Peter Rogers, a Warning Coordination Meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, SD; and Eric Snodgrass, a Science Fellow and Principal Atmospheric Scientist with Nutrien Ag Solutions.
